Ryanair Loses Appeal Of Barred €1.5B Aer Lingus Deal

Law360, New York (July 6, 2010, 4:34 PM EDT) -- A European Union court has denied appeals by both Ryanair Holdings PLC and Aer Lingus Group PLC stemming from Ryanair's €1.48 billion ($1.87 billion) bid to take over its rival, a move the European Commission stopped in 2007 over concerns that the merger would all but eliminate competition in the Irish market.
