ConCarb Hits National Union For Carbon Black Coverage

Law360, New York (July 6, 2010, 3:23 PM EDT) -- A Texas carbon company has sued National Union Fire Insurance Co. of Pittsburgh, Pa., saying it breached contract by refusing to foot the bill for at least $50 million in legal fees, judgments and settlements over damage caused by a leak of carbon black.

Houston-based Continental Carbon Co. is on the hook for a $20.7 million jury verdict, $28 million in litigation fees, and millions more in undisclosed settlements, all of which should be included under umbrella policies with National Union, according to a complaint lodged...
