USPS Enveloped In DOL Worker Safety Probe

Law360, New York (July 6, 2010, 6:21 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Labor has hit the Postal Service with a worker safety complaint, seeking to remedy electrical violations at 350 processing and distribution centers.

This is the first time the DOL has sought enterprisewide relief as a remedy, the agency said Tuesday.

While the complaint arises from specific violations found by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration at a Providence, R.I., facility, OHSA also found numerous, similar electrical work safety violations in the course of nationwide investigations, the agency said.
