Epson To Pay $7M To Exit LCD Antitrust MDL

Law360, New York (July 13, 2010, 10:54 AM EDT) -- Epson Electronics America Inc. has struck a $7 million deal with direct purchasers to put to rest allegations that it conspired with rival electronics companies to fix the prices of thin film transistor-liquid crystal display products.

The class of direct purchasers in the multidistrict antitrust litigation over TFT-LCD products asked the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Monday to preliminarily approve the settlement, certify a settlement class and establish a deadline for class members to exclude themselves from the deal.
