Commerce Wraps Up China, Taiwan Ribbon Investigation

Law360, New York (July 14, 2010, 5:10 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce has assessed anti-dumping margins of up to 247.65 percent on narrow woven ribbon used for gift wrapping and clothing from China and up to 4.37 percent on this type of ribbon from Taiwan.

The department also said Tuesday that it had determined that ribbon from China received countervailable subsidies of between 1.56 and 117.95 percent.

The decision means that Commerce will instruct U.S. Customs and Border Protection to collect cash deposits for anti-dumping duties on Chinese and Taiwanese ribbon.
