Motorola Finds Way Out Of GPS Patent Dispute

Law360, New York (July 14, 2010, 12:03 PM EDT) -- Motorola Inc. has resolved its part in a suit brought by ITT Manufacturing Enterprises Inc. that accuses a raft of telecommunications leviathans of infringing a patent for processing GPS data.

Judge Joseph Farnan of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware on Tuesday dismissed Motorola from the case, noting that each company would cover its own costs.

Details of a settlement, if any, were not disclosed, and representatives for Motorola and for ITT did not immediately respond to requests for comment Wednesday.
