Samsung Tries To Nix Classes In SRAM Antitrust MDL

Law360, New York (July 16, 2010, 4:13 PM EDT) -- Cypress Semiconductor Corp. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. have asked a judge to decertify classes of direct and indirect buyers in a multidistrict litigation alleging price-fixing of static random access memory products, arguing that the lead plaintiffs lack standing to sue.

Samsung and Cypress filed a motion to decertify Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, claiming that the direct buyers' lead plaintiff can't represent that class because it didn't buy SRAM from the defendants during the class period.
