UnitedHealth Hit With Sweeping RICO Suit

Law360, New York (February 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Two New York hospitals have filed a lawsuit accusing UnitedHealth Group Inc. of engaging in a widespread conspiracy to bolster its bottom line by failing to fulfill its contractual obligations to pay medical providers for services.

Minnesota-based UnitedHealth Group and several of its subsidiaries and executives ran afoul of various laws, including the U.S. Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, the suit alleges.
