WaMu Shareholders Win Probe Of JPMorgan Deal

Law360, New York (July 20, 2010, 3:57 PM EDT) -- Washington Mutual Inc. shareholders won a bid Tuesday for an examiner to review a litigation settlement between the bank, JPMorgan Chase & Co. and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. that is key to WaMu's emergence from bankruptcy.

Judge Mary Walrath of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware said she planned on appointing an examiner Monday. She wants the examiner to turn in a preliminary plan by early August and to submit a report by Sept. 7.
