AOL, BofA, Others Hit With Spam Filter Patent Suit

Law360, New York (July 21, 2010, 3:41 PM EDT) -- Three dozen companies across an array of industries, including Apple Inc., Bank of America Corp. and Frito-Lay Inc., are facing infringement allegations from a patent-licensing company that claims its e-mail filtering technology is being used without permission.

InNova Patent Licensing LLC filed a 19-page complaint Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, targeting a number of companies that use programs to filter e-mail sent to their corporate accounts, as well as anti-spam software company 3Com Corp.
