Amazon, PayPal Face Payment Notification IP Suit

Law360, New York (July 22, 2010, 3:54 PM EDT) -- A Bermuda-based patent-holding company has accused Inc., PayPal Inc. and the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication SCRL of infringing patents covering instant payment notification technology.

Rmail Ltd. filed suit Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, claiming that the defendants have knowingly infringed at least one of two patents-in-suit and have willfully and intentionally aided, assisted and encouraged others to use the protected technology without permission.
