Insurer Settles Suits Over SC Condo Defects

Law360, New York (July 22, 2010, 3:03 PM EDT) -- An insurer who sought to escape liability for alleged construction defects at a condominium development in South Carolina has settled two lawsuits against various contractors, subcontractors and homeowners associations.

Judge Patrick Michael Duffy of the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina signed orders Wednesday dismissing the suits brought by American Southern Insurance Co., saying he was notified the action had been settled. The orders provided no settlement details.
