Russian Court Nixes Gazprom Antitrust Law Challenge

Law360, New York (July 22, 2010, 5:40 PM EDT) -- Russia's Constitutional Court has reportedly declined to hear a challenge to the country's competition law, though a unit of state-controlled energy giant OAO Gazprom will get another chance to try and overturn millions of dollars of fines against it.

Gazprom Neft, the oil division of Gazprom, disputed the constitutionality of the competition law and also disputed whether the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service acted properly in applying the law against the company, according to Russia's Interfax news agency.
