Amkor To Fight ITC Decision Clearing Carsem

Law360, New York (July 23, 2010, 4:40 PM EDT) -- Semiconductor assembly firm Amkor Technology Inc. plans to challenge the U.S. International Trade Commission’s move upholding a decision that Carsem’s imported encapsulated integrated circuit devices did not infringe three patents owned by Amkor.

Amkor said Wednesday it would appeal the ITC’s final determination on Tuesday affirming there was no violation of Section 337 of the Tariff Act and terminating the agency’s long-running patent infringement investigation.

“We are disappointed by this determination and the lengthy delays in litigating this matter,” Amkor President and CEO Ken Joyce said....
