Soccer Groups Not Exempt From Antitrust Laws: Judge

Law360, New York (July 23, 2010, 1:53 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has refused to throw out a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act lawsuit brought against the U.S. Soccer Federation and Major League Soccer LLC by a bankrupt rival, ruling that USSF does not have the authority to govern professional soccer in the U.S. and is not entitled to an exemption from antitrust laws.
