ST Sues Avago Over Semiconductor Patents

Law360, New York (July 26, 2010, 11:49 AM EDT) -- Semiconductor manufacturer STMicroelectronics Inc. has accused electronics component maker Avago Technologies Ltd. of infringing two patents for semiconductor parts.

STMicroelectronics filed suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, alleging infringement of U.S. Patent Numbers 6,838,752 and 6,362,697, which cover inventions relating to various elements of semiconductors, including packaging and oscillator circuits.

The '697 patent, titled “Low supply voltage relaxation oscillator having current mirror transistors supply for capacitors,” was issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in March 2002. The...
