Fight Over GPS Chips Goes To ITC

Law360, New York (February 09, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- The growing spat between rival software companies SiRF Technology and Global Locate over global positioning chips has gone to the U.S. International Trade Commission.

The two California tech companies have been fighting over the GPS circuit chips since late last year, when claims and counterclaims were filed in federal court.

SiRF argues Global is violating certain of its patents covering GPS chips, while Global counters that SiRF is exploiting a monopoly on the technology.
