US Steel Can't Stop Canada's Case Over Stelco Deal

Law360, New York (July 27, 2010, 5:59 PM EDT) -- A Canadian appeals court has refused to stay the Canadian government's case alleging the United States Steel Corp. failed to keep promises to maintain production and employment levels after acquiring Stelco Inc.

In a decision issued Friday, the Federal Court of Appeal denied U.S. Steel's attempt to have the case put on hold until the company's challenge to the constitutionality of the Investment Canada Act is resolved.
