Dems Roll Out BP Oil Spill Response Packages

Law360, New York (July 27, 2010, 1:05 PM EDT) -- Leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate unveiled bills Tuesday to amend environmental, economic and worker safety rules for offshore oil and gas drilling, in a race to pass a legislative response to the Deepwater Horizon disaster by Congress' August recess.

The Senate’s Clean Energy Jobs and Oil Accountability Act, introduced by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., combines a number of immediate regulatory priorities for the offshore oil and gas industry with a scaled-back clean energy and efficiency legislative package.
