Kroes Criticizes Business Insurance Sector

Law360, New York (February 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- European Union Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes highlighted areas of concern in Europe’s business insurance industry on Friday at a public hearing.

The Commission published an interim report on its Sector Inquiry into Business Insurance on January 24. The 164-page report found problems at varying levels of the business-insurance market that could be hampering competition, and suggested that small- and medium-sized enterprises in particular are faced with a dearth of competition.
