Disney, TV Stations Face Spanish Probe Over Ad Deals

Law360, New York (July 28, 2010, 5:10 PM EDT) -- Spain's competition enforcer has launched an investigation into a local unit of The Walt Disney Co. and three local television advertising vendors, citing concerns that the companies' joint marketing agreements might run afoul of Spanish and European bans on price-fixing.

The Spanish National Competition Commission, or CNC, has decided to open disciplinary proceedings against The Walt Disney Co. Iberia SL along with Antena 3 de Television SA, Atres Advertising SLU and Veo Television SA under the country's Defense of Competition Act, the antitrust watchdog said Wednesday....
