Green Groups Seek To Halt Denison Uranium Mining

Law360, New York (July 30, 2010, 5:11 PM EDT) -- Three environmental groups have sued the U.S. Forest Service over a plan to allow uranium drilling by Denison Mines Corp. in a Utah national forest, which the groups claim would release hazardous radon gas.

The suit, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah by Uranium Watch, the Center for Water Advocacy and Living Rivers, challenges an April 14 Forest Service memo authorizing Denison to conduct exploratory drilling for uranium in the Manti-La Sal National Forest, near the town of La Sal,...
