7th Circ. OKs Booting Of Exxon, Shell Price Inflation Suit

Law360, New York (August 2, 2010, 1:41 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has ruled that a judge was right to deny class certification and to dismiss a consumer lawsuit accusing the nation's largest oil companies, including Shell Oil Co. and Exxon Mobil Corp., of using market dominance to inflate gasoline prices.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit affirmed Friday a judge's decision to toss the case brought by Michael Siegel, saying he failed to show that the defendants' alleged conduct caused him any harm.
