9th Circ. Won't Reopen Case Over Joshua Tree Dump

Law360, New York (August 2, 2010, 5:42 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has refused to rehear en banc its decision to block a land transfer from the federal government that would have let a dump be built next to the Joshua Tree National Park.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said Friday it voted down landfill-proponent Kaiser Ventures LLC's petition for rehearing.
