Atty Labeled 'Sexual Predator' Wins $1.25M Verdict

Law360, New York (August 4, 2010, 7:41 PM EDT) -- A California jury has sided with ex-attorney Thomas Ostly, who was accused of sexually assaulting a former paralegal while heading the now-defunct firm Ostly Murphy & Vu LLP, awarding him $1.25 million in damages for his defamation countersuit.

Following a three-week trial, a jury in the Alameda County Superior Court on Monday rejected the claims of plaintiff Allison Moreno and awarded Ostly $1.15 million in damages and $100,000 in punitive damages.
