Law360, New York (August 05, 2010, 1:40 PM ET) -- A federal judge has found that the city of Malibu, Calif., violated the Clean Water Act by illegally discharging waste into an oceanic preserve between Mugu Lagoon in Ventura County, Calif., and Latigo Point in Los Angeles.
Ruling on competing summary judgment motions in his chambers Monday, Judge A. Howard Matz of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California found against the city on one claim but released it from another that alleged Malibu failed to submit adequate receiving-water limitations compliance reports....
