NBC, ABC, Others Slapped With Digital Video IP Suit

Law360, New York (August 5, 2010, 3:09 PM EDT) -- A slew of television studios, movie houses and electronics companies, including Fox Entertainment Group Inc., Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. and JVC Americas Corp., have been accused of infringing four patents for a process used to compress digital video data.

Multimedia Patent Trust, which lists Alcatel-Lucent USA Inc. and the Alcatel-Lucent Foundation as beneficiaries, filed an amended complaint Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, updating its allegations to swap some defendants and add more detailed information on the purported infringement....
