Swiss-E.U. Debate On Tax Regimes Heats Up

Law360, New York (February 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federation of multinational companies in Switzerland on Tuesday opposed the European Union’s request that the country change its tax rules, arguing that the bloc was trying to interfere in market dynamics and distort competition.

Swissholdings, a federation composed of 40 companies with headquarters in Switzerland, asked the Swiss government to stand firm against the E.U.’s demands.
