Securities Litigation Trends: Technology

Law360, New York (February 14, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- With several shareholders pursuing legal action after opting out of a $400 million class action settlement, Qwest Communications International, Inc. barely edged out Apple Inc. for involvement in the most securities litigation in 2006, according to our survey of the 50 largest technology companies in the U.S.

While Qwest was still under shareholder pressure for lying about the company’s finances, many technology companies were subjected to lawsuits in 2006 stemming from Department of Justice and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission probes into options backdating.
