IP Boutiques Lose More Ground In Patent Suits

Law360, New York (February 14, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Patent specialty firms lost some ground to their general practice rivals in 2006, even as the number of patent infringement lawsuits increased in the United States, according to our survey of federal court dockets.

The top ten boutiques collectively took on 310 new patent cases in 2006 - just shy of 11% of all such cases filed in the United States that year. That compares to a 13% share the previous year, when the group took on 364 new cases.
