Enviro Group Seeks More Info On $8.3B Energy Loan

Law360, New York (August 11, 2010, 7:05 PM EDT) -- An environmental group has launched a Freedom of Information Act suit seeking more details about an $8.33 billion loan guarantee the Obama administration promised Southern Co. for two new nuclear power units.

The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy filed its lawsuit Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, alleging that the deal has remained shrouded in secrecy and that taxpayers should be able to analyze its economic risks.
