Bard Hits Atrium, Endologix With Graft Patent Suit

Law360, New York (August 11, 2010, 2:45 PM EDT) -- Medical device manufacturer C. R. Bard Inc. is once again fighting to enforce its patent covering a type of prosthetic blood vessel graft, accusing its competitors Atrium Medical Corp. and Endologix Inc. of knowingly infringing the patent.

Bard lodged its complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona on Tuesday, claiming that several of the expanded polytetrafuoroethylene prosthetic vascular grafts Atrium and Endologix make and sell nationwide infringe a patent that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued to Bard in 2002....
