10th Circ. Affirms $15M Award In Swift Accident Case

Law360, New York (August 11, 2010, 4:55 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit has affirmed a lower court's ruling that trucking giant Swift Transportation Co. Inc. must pay $15.3 million to a man injured in an accident involving a Swift tractor-trailer in New Mexico.

The appeals court on Tuesday rejected Swift's arguments that the judge in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas improperly instructed the jury and made erroneous evidentiary rulings.
