USPTO Rejects Sidense Memory Chip Patent

Law360, New York (August 13, 2010, 5:46 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has initially rejected all four claims of a Sidense Corp. patent covering a type of memory chip, handing a minor victory to Kilopass Technology Inc., a rival that sued Sidense for infringing four of its patents.

Kilopass, a provider of embedded nonvolatile memory, or eNVM, said Thursday that the USPTO's decision to grant an inter partes reexamination of Sidense's U.S. Patent Number 7,402,855 was the “first major milestone” in its lawsuit against Sidense.
