Oracle Says Google Android Software Infringes Java IP

Law360, New York (August 13, 2010, 12:16 PM EDT) -- An Oracle Corp. unit has launched a suit claiming Google Inc.'s Android software for mobile devices violates Java patents and copyrights that Oracle acquired when it bought Sun Microsystems Inc. in January.

Marc David Peters and Michael A. Jacobs of Morrison & Foerster LLP filed suit on behalf of Oracle America Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
