Calif. High Court Snuffs Out Intel Trade Secrets Suit

Law360, New York (August 19, 2010, 3:42 PM EDT) -- California's highest court has effectively put an end to a six-year trade secrets dispute brought by Silvaco Data Systems Inc. alleging Intel Corp. lifted code for semiconductor design software.

The California Supreme Court on Wednesday denied Silvaco's petition for a review of a lower court's April decision that Intel did not have access to the underlying source code of the software at issue, only the executable code. Intel had acquired the software from a company called Circuit Semantics Inc.
