Veolia, 4 Defendants Strike Deal In Oil Spill Case

Law360, New York (August 20, 2010, 4:55 PM EDT) -- Environmental cleanup firm Veolia ES Special Services Inc. and a group of defendants have resolved claims over cleanup costs for 23,000 gallons of coal tar light oil that spilled from a railcar in 2004.

Judge Robert C. Chambers of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia on Thursday signed off on a joint order to dismiss with prejudice Veolia’s claims against defendants GATX Corp., Rescar Inc., Sloss Industries Corp. Inc. and Hilltop Investments Inc. after the parties reached a settlement agreement....
