Cable Cos. Seek Limitations On Comcast-NBC Deal

Law360, New York (August 20, 2010, 1:22 PM EDT) -- The American Cable Association is asking the Federal Communications Commission to impose conditions on the proposed $37 billion joint venture between Comcast Corp. and NBC Universal Inc. to keep the newly formed entity from jacking up cable and broadcast channel prices for rival providers.

The ACA, which represents about 900 smaller and midsize cable and broadband providers, lodged its comments on the proposed joint venture with the FCC on Thursday, the last day of the formal FCC comment period on the hotly debated deal.
