Staffing Co. Settles EEOC Race Bias Suit

Law360, New York (August 23, 2010, 4:52 PM EDT) -- Paramount Staffing Inc., a temporary staffing agency with operations in five states, has agreed to pay $585,000 to settle a U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission suit alleging it favored Hispanic workers over black workers in hiring at a warehouse in Memphis, Tenn.

Judge Jon Phipps McCalla of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee on Thursday dismissed the case, citing the settlement and consent decree. The EEOC announced the settlement in statement Monday.
