Cell Phone Locator Patents Survive T-Mobile Attack

Law360, New York (August 24, 2010, 1:24 PM EDT) -- T-Mobile USA Inc., TracFone Wireless Inc. and AT&T Mobility LLC have lost their bid to have three cell phone locator patents asserted by Emsat Advanced Geo-Location Technology LLC declared invalid for indefiniteness.

Judge John R. Adams of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio on Monday denied the defendants' motion for partial summary judgment of invalidity, ruling that contrary to their allegations, a key term in Emsat's patents was not ambiguous.
