Mitsubishi's IP-Related Antitrust Case V. GE Stayed

Law360, New York (August 23, 2010, 6:36 PM EDT) -- A federal judge stayed Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd.'s antitrust suit against General Electric Co. on Monday, putting the brakes on the Tokyo-based company's claims that its U.S. rival is fraudulently obtaining patents and pursuing "sham litigation" to control the multibillion-dollar wind turbine market.

But GE's bid to have the lawsuit thrown out entirely was turned aside by Judge J. Leon Holmes of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas, who ruled Mitsubishi's suit contained actionable claims.
