Ex-Client Slaps Troutman Sanders With $10M Fee Suit

Law360, New York (August 24, 2010, 6:44 PM EDT) -- A retired Columbia University professor and technology patent holder is seeking more than $10 million from her former attorneys at Troutman Sanders LLP, whom she has accused of a raft of fiduciary breaches including fraud, misuse of escrowed funds, misappropriation, overcharges, illegal markups and excessive fees.

Dr. Gertrude Neumark Rothschild sent the firm and attorney Albert Jacobs Jr. a summons Monday, demanding that they respond to the action lodged in the New York State Supreme Court within 20 days or risk a default judgment against them....
