Ex-Worker Hits Md. Hospital With ADA Class Action

Law360, New York (August 26, 2010, 7:32 PM EDT) -- Baltimore Washington Medical Center Inc. has been slapped with a putative class action accusing the hospital of violating the Americans with Disabilities Act by forcing employees who take three or more consecutive days off for medical reasons to submit to medical examinations before returning to work.

The complaint was filed on behalf of former BWMC employee Renee Atkinson-Bush in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland on Wednesday, alleging violations of the ADA, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and Maryland state law....
