US, St. Jude In Talks To End Qui Tam Kickback Suit

Law360, New York (August 26, 2010, 4:45 PM EDT) -- The federal government has won more time to intervene in a whistleblower's kickback case against St. Jude Medical Inc. in order to see whether settlement talks with the heart device manufacturer will pan out.

Judge Douglas P. Woodlock on Wednesday approved a joint request to push back the deadline for filing an intervening complaint in the case until Sept. 30, according to the order in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
