Law360, New York (August 27, 2010, 4:59 PM ET) -- Health care benefit provider Aetna Inc. has accused Laboratory Corp. of America Holdings of misleading Aetna members into believing that in-network rates for its laboratory services continued to apply after its in-network provider contract with the insurer had expired.
LabCorp orchestrated this “malicious scheme” using proprietary information gained during its time as Aetna's in-network provider so that Aetna members would continue to refer their patient's laboratory tests to the company to the detriment of both the insurer and its current in-network provider, according to the complaint...
