MoFo Reps Intel In $1.4B Infineon Wireless Deal

Law360, New York (August 30, 2010, 12:33 PM EDT) -- Intel Corp. said Monday it will pay $1.4 billion to buy the wireless unit of German chip maker Infineon Technologies AG in a cash transaction Intel said would allow it to boost Internet connectivity.

The deal, which comes just over a week after Intel announced its plan to acquire McAfee Inc. for $7.7 billion, is expected to close in the first quarter of 2011. It will allow Infineon's Wireless Solutions Business to operate as a stand-alone entity, the companies said Monday.
