US Floats Fuel Economy Grades For Vehicles

Law360, New York (August 30, 2010, 3:13 PM EDT) -- Aiming to revamp the fuel economy labels required to be posted on new vehicles in dealer showrooms, the U.S. government has released two new sticker designs for public comment, one of which assigns vehicles a letter grade.

The joint effort by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Transportation proposes to provide consumers with additional details about a vehicle's fuel economy that will help them quickly compare the fuel economy of a range of vehicles, including electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and more...
