Microsoft Enters Gaming Patent Spat To Protect Info

Law360, New York (September 02, 2010, 11:49 AM ET) -- Microsoft Corp. has moved to intervene in a patent infringement suit PalTalk Holdings Inc. filed against Sony Corp. and others in order to protect “highly sensitive” business information from its competitors in the video game industry.

Microsoft filed an intervenor complaint on Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, arguing that certain documents the defendants requested are not relevant to the case and, moreover, their disclosure would cause “significant competitive harm” to the company.
