WorldCom Judge Weighs IP Claims Against Verizon

Law360, New York (August 31, 2010, 5:39 PM EDT) -- The judge who oversaw the bankruptcy of WorldCom Inc. is weighing whether to kill off tens of millions of dollars of patent infringement claims brought against an affiliate of WorldCom successor Verizon Business Global LLC.

Eon Corp. IP Holdings LLC argued before U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Arthur J. Gonzalez on Tuesday against Verizon's efforts to enforce a confirmation order and classify the claims as extinguished.
