Calif. OKs Bill To Streamline Environmental Review

Law360, New York (September 2, 2010, 2:42 PM EDT) -- The California Legislature has approved a bill that aims to crack down on abuses of the California Environmental Quality Act by forcing parties to make a good faith effort to resolve their disputes over environmental impact reviews for projects before resorting to litigation.

Senate Bill 1456, sponsored by Sen. Joe Simtian, D-Palo Alto, passed the California Senate 37-0 on Tuesday, the last day of the legislative session. The California Assembly passed it 77-1 on Monday.
